What's wrong with this photo? The dryer vent is too close to the AC condensing unit. Want to guess what problem that causes? See photo on right.
Notice that the condensing fins have been blocked by lint from the dryer vent. The fan for the condensing unit pulls air through the heat exchanger fins to cool the refrigerant. This problem causes a significant decrease in AC efficiency.

Someone went to a lot of trouble to conceal their outside condensing unit. Looks good from the street, but doesn't cool too well. The condensing unit needs to pull a lot of air through the heat exchanger to function correctly. Not only does it not work well, but it makes it extremely difficult to service.

This homeowner "spared no expense" in hiding his ugly AC condensing unit. The factory rep will have a real laugh when the customer calls asking why his air conditioning system doesn't work correctly. How many folks would notice this during their walk through? You have to get air flow around the condensing unit for the system to work. The cost of the home inspection would more than pay back the outrageous utility bills the homeowner would pay for a poorly functioning AC system.
